This year, BROKECHELLA will host festival mainstay and LA Weekly top live bands finalist, electronic folk duo yOya and fellow returning acts “bi-polar-folk”-blues group Kera & the Lesbians, and Echo Park garage pop fan favorite LA Font. Alongside eight acts new to the cARTel stage, these Los Angeles must-hears represent a variety of the city's most thriving musical movements. For 2014, we welcome a host of international acts via our brand-new World Initiative, including Swiss trash-pop iTunes chart topper ZIBBZ. The cARTel Stage will also host shoegaze pop/folk collective Hott MT, former opener for the Flaming Lips; electronic trio drawing from Chicago classic soul & experimental psychedelia Greenhorse; dark, dreamy female fronted rock band Dark Furs; ambitious surfer rock via Francisco The Man; glam-blues power pop rockers The Singles; harmony driven disco-synth dance group Vibes; and the rhythmic indie pop newcomers StaG.
